MultiWii Pro on plane

MultiWii Pro with MTK GPS, Ardupilot Mega on my plane

First step was to upload Ardupilot Mega. Then I adjusted the PID settings so that it flies correctly.
Today's test was pretty successful but I still need to figure out why the altitude entered for the different waypoints is not followed by my plane. I checked the altitude. Tried it in absolute and height mode. I'm flying at about 800m above sea level and it looks like my plane want to go to that given 150m above sea level instead of 150m of height.

Loiter and RTL modes work lovely, so GPS is rightly configured but I guess the weight of the baro or something is wrong with the altitude definition.

Any tipp or idea would be appreciated.

For the rest enjoy the landscapes on that beautiful day!

Plane: Hype "U Can Fly", modified with classic gear configuration
Control board: MultiWii Pro with MTK GPS
Software on board: Ardupilot Mega
Radio: Turnigy T9X with Open9x v2.13 (Now 9XR)
Camera: GoPro Hero2

EDIT: I have found the problem of the altutiude. The definition of the home altitude on at the bottom corner on the right has all its sense. After defining the correct home altitude, the plane flies perfectly from one point to the next.

As far as I know you can only have attitude above sea level with gps, it has no reference to calculate actual altitude against, barometer also works by measuring the atmospheric pressure which does not depend on the distance from the ground only the air density, so its also calculates altitude from sea level. So this is the way it supposed to work and you cannot do much against it, sorry.

The only remedy for your problem is finding out how much above sea level the ground is where you fly, than add it to altitude of your waypoints! I would expect that 150m above sea level would be way underground in Switzerland so it is not a surprise that your autopilot tried to crash the plane!

Anyway, its good to know that Multiwii pro can handle Ardupilot Firmware, thanks for the info!!

You're completely right. But as I mentioned in the edit comment, if you enter the home altitude correctly, you can then give a "height" above home altitude and it works fine. But you're right if you plan to fly pretty low, pressure difference from one day to the next might bring you into a dangerous pattern flight.
