Quick Helical Case

I needed something to carry my antenna to the field in. I have a old fatshark box with some bubble wrap in it but...kinda squishy and bulky.  I had heard of people making the reflector out of the lid of a jar and using a jar to transport it, but I wanted something different.

Then I found this... I think this old phone case will suit my purpose.

First I will drill a hole in the lid the size of my sma connector.

Ok!So far so good..

Lucky for me I have lots of foam tubing. =)

Selecting three different sizes of tubing, I slit them lengthwise.

Then I stacked them in the phone case.   I liked what I saw so I hot glued the foam in place.

Now my gear is safe on the way to the field and I kept some junk out of a landfill. Win .win.

How do you get your gear around?
