Scratch built Y6 Maiden Part III

by apache64 | February 27, 2014 | (5) Posted in Projects

I have finally built the Y6 and in this video you can see it flying with just a KK 2.0 board, as i wanted to see how it flies, before i install my APM 2.5.

The video is shot from the ground via my Mobius camera, in 1080p, and the onboard with a GoPro on a gimble.

I am very impressed with the mobius, and the gimble is also outstanding in keeping the camera stable.

I am running on a 3s lipo, but might try a 4s, to see if i get longer flight times, it seems wuite powerful, and i will again video it once i get it out in some open space.

Enjoy :-)

Nice! Been looking at building a hex ap platform for a while now but funds always seem to be short when I get serious about starting the project.

What lenses do you have on the go pro? Looks like a fish eye lens.

Hi Quantum Sponge, (what a great name :-) ) yes i was in such a hurry to get the video shot, and to fly the model i did not put the go-pro video through their software, which would remove the fish-eye lens effect. I believe there are third party lens now with different , or normal lens f stops etc.

Ahh ok, do not own a go pro but it's what I'm looking at using when I get my butt into gear lol. No gello visible which is good, interested to see how the gimbal performs with some higher speed manuvering.

Keep up the great work, and I for one am interested in following ur progress. ;)
