Today we chat all about flying field etiquette! We get to a TON of topics in this podcast but our main segment is what to expect at a flying event or a local flying field. Hopefully if you are backyard flyer and have been considering going out to a club or an event, this podcast is just what you needed to get out the door. :)

Thanks much for the great content. Two suggestion that came to mind while listening to the podcats:

- As a private pilot I'm used to announcing my intentions. But its hard to get a complete sense for what RC Pilot expect for announcements. (e.g. do you call out cross wind, down wind, base and final? Do I only announce when crossing the runway or also out in the field picking up my foam pieces). It would be informative to have a list for the call's you'd expect to hear on a normal Saturday at the local club, a Tuesday night in Josh's backyard and at a busy day at a large flyin, Do they have tower and require clearances for landing at such events?

- another topic that I'd really find of interest is tips and etiquette for finding local places to fly (and parks, playing field at the local school, open space). Are there any good tips for finding such places and any great insights. Obviously one should be considerate of others there but any other great insights for making the most of what's near by?

Again thanks!

Perhaps Bryan does not remember, because he didn't cut the episode yet...

... but he was on a flying event before. Even if it was really small, the European Meetup still counts. =)

I just want to make a note on the safety aspect of flying in a crowd.. Touching the DSM2 that's not safe in crowd's, we had a similar incident this weekend, with people flying via there GoPro's, I guess they are fine when youre alone, but when there is people around also with goggles on you cant avoid a crash cause your'e tethered to the GS.. and flying through a GoPro isn't save they lock up way to much...
