Battery weights

Hello everyone! This is my first article! So I am going to show you a money saving tip...

instead of putting the weight in the plane, put it on the battery. In the pictures below is my Turnigy 2200 3S which I use for most of my planes, in my bixler, i have 5g in the nose, in my friends Piper cub, there is 20g, and in my durafly vampire, there is 20g. The way that this saves money, is that I balanced this out for all these planes so I only need to use small amounts of weight in the aircraft themselves!

Thanks for reading my first article!

So.... I'm confused by your comment. So you save money by only putting a little weight in the plane? And ....... Instead put a lot of weight on all of your batteries? So you only have one battery or I am missing something here. I have 6 or 8 packs of 2200's myself. I would rather put the weight in the plane instead of making a hot spot on my pack that could fall off or just be in the way inside my plane. Usually batteries are a tight fit and I would rather put the weight right where it is at the farthest point forward or aft so I didn't have to use as much. Still confused here. Oh well.

if you have to balance on your battery. then try a bigger battery (heavier) thus longer flight time.
look at your fitting maybe even cut some space, keep in mind the best benefit.(or a bigger battery or a counterweight to balance)

I also do not understand this! On my first tricopter I ran 3S 2200's and I wouldn't want extra weight on the battery! I see vaguely where you are coming from. Another thing, does a Durafly vampire not run on a 4S lipo? And so does a hobbyking cub? My dad has both (well, L-4 grasshopper, not L-3 cub) the cub for towing etc, and everyone I know who flies RC has owned a bixler at some point!
