DIY DX6i Trim Tab Repair

by Klinger RC | December 18, 2014 | (0) Posted in How To

One day I was flying a plane on its maiden, went to trim the elevator, and nothing happened! It turns out the little trim tab in my DX6i was broken!!! Here is how to fix it.

First we need to remove the back of the transmitter. Simply unscrew the screws on the back on remove the rear face of the transmitter.

Next, identify the board that the faulty tab is mounted to and unscrew it. MAKE SURE TO PUT THE SCREWS IN A SAFE PLACE WERE YOU WONT LOSE THEM!!!

Now remove the trim tab. One of the arms should be broken and bent.

Use some CA glue to put a posicle stick here for reinforcement.

Finally screw everything back together, test the switch, and go fly!
