$800 DJI FPV system on a $2 plane.

My name is Shawn Morrison.  I have been flying RC for about 12 years, now.  I started flying drones to chase professional wakeboarders, but, I wasn't very good at it.  I started looking for videos online to help me get better.  I ran across some random Flite Test video, and, Josh and Josh had such great chemistry, and I loved the production quality of the video, that I looked for more videos by them.  I had no interest in planes at the time, but I loved the show, and one day, I decided to build one of their planes, because it looked like a lot of fun.  Well, it didn't take long for me to get totally addicted to building and flying foamboard.  I scratch built probably 100 planes by hand with a razor blade, because I kept crashing, and just loved the challenge.  I eventually bought a laser, so I could have unlimited planes, and so they could be built much faster.  I started designing my own planes, and modifying FT planes to suit my needs.  I built this twin engine Arrow in hopes to go faster, and to carry more gear.

Fast forward a few years, and I started flying drones FPV and another addiction began.

The same Chad Kapper that helped start Flite Test, also started Rotor Riot, and I was again hooked watching another show about the RC hobby.

I’ve been very fortunate to have my newest FPV idols move into my city, recently. They have always inspired me and gave me that itch to go out and fly FPV drones. It is an honor to be a part of such an awesome group of people like Rotor Riot. Check out our latest episode. I had such a great time participating in it.

It took 3 planes to get all of the tricks in this video.  One landed in the river, one got stuck in a tree, and the third is still flying just fine.

Flite Test has been such a huge inspiration to me, and I am so grateful to them for all of the great videos they they have made, and for the videos they are still making today.  I still watch every single episode.

I made a video on my own channel to show a little more flying from that day.  I hope you enjoy.

Thanks for watching.
