Father & Son FT Spitfire project

We followed all your suggestions, but the most important was to work this project as a Father & Son project.

We enjoyed a lot working together. I am 51 and my son is 21. He knows how the electronics work and I have a little more experience with painting and details, so we make a good team.

We add some weapons and we painted it with simple spray paint, adding some yellow details and decals we printed at home.

We worked with local 5 mm board we found here in Mexico, so at the end the Spitfire was a little heavy, 950 gr final weight with the 2200 mA battery, so we upgraded the motor to a GH2217-09; 70 gr; 225 watts; 950 KV.Motor

We use the spinner and prop from HK P51 and it balances perfect. Spinner. Propeller was also from a P51 Prop

We added a landing gear from HK. Landing gear. For the tail I attached a spare tail landing gear from a Supercub.

Thank you very much Flite Test for this amazing opportunity to spend time with my lovely son. We will always remember this time together making this nice plane.

Thank you very much Josh and David.

It flies excellent!

Great job Ivan and son,

I´m starting to build mine, do you know of any hobby shop here in Mexico, where do you get your electronics?,

Hola

There must be some stores here in Mexico, but it is definitely better to order online to Hobbyking for electronics like motor, esc, servos, etc. as you can see in the article I also order some of the electronics from graysonhobby, just type in the article where the motor is and you will be directed to their website. It takes like 3-4weeks to arrive, but they arrive in good conditions. I have ordered many stuff from them and hobbyking. You can find a motor or esc 4-5 times more expensive in Mexico than if you order online from Hobbyking or Graysonhobby. You may have to go to the postoffice to pick up the goods, but you do not pay any extras.

Hola
Use dos colores de pintura en spray de Comex. Primero pinté el fondo de gris mate y luego tape algunas partes del avión con masking tape y apliqué las manchas verdes de un Aero Comex Aluprimer pero cualquier spray funciona.
