FPV A Day Before the Flood!

To the FliteTest Community:

This episode features the use of our newest acquistion of FPV equipment, the Fatshark 5.8 GHz system.  We know there have been hundreds of videos out there showing off these goggles, but for us, it was like Christmas in September.  This shot of the students trying out the new equipment was the first break of the rain for the day, which would later resume and not stop until it had caused the worse floods in Colorado history.  Our town was split in two due to the floods of our Thompson River.  We have been getting numerous emails asking if we are ok, and yes we are doing just fine and schools were able to avoid the flood.  Below is some pics of the Thompson River Flood;

It has been a crazy experience and we are very thankful of our current blessings.  Some people had asked if we could fly FPV to do some recon of the flooded areas and the answer was a big no.  We played it safe knowing that the national gaurd had opened up and restricted all from the airspace above the flooded regions. There was over 10 helicopters being used to rescue people from Estes Park in the mountains right above the town.  We have more rain coming in Sunday and we are praying that it isnt much and it goes away!

Below is some pictures of the boys trying out the new goggles, it was an awesome time before a tragic event.

Ty very excited to be going first!

All smiles as the view comes in crystal clear through the goggles.

Here is the basic specs of the equipment we used.

Using the Ares Gamma 370

Henry gets a shot!

Jake thought it was easy, especially for his first time flying an RC plane.

Shot of the school onboard the Ares.
